Update of 25 July Regarding Corona Virus Infection

On 25 July 2020, additional 109 cases were diagnosed with which there are now 18,483 corona virus infected people in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 13,053 have been discharged after recovery. On 25 July, 106 were discharged. At present, there are 5,385 people being treated in different hospitals nationwide. Out of the total infected, 70.6% have recovered. Till 25 July, the death toll has reached 45. According to the Ministry, 4,075 swabs were tested.

Provincial Reports

In Province 2, a total of 4,817 people have been infected with corona in Province 2 till 25 July, of which 2,898 have recovered after treatment. At present, 1,909 infected people are undergoing treatment in the province. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 10 infected people have died till 25 July.

According to the District Representative of Saptari, Manohar Kumar Pokharel, the emergency ward of Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, which was sealed after a patient was confirmed was infected with corona, has started functioning since 25 July. Dr. Ranjit Kumar Jha, acting Medical Superintendent of the hospital, said that it was difficult to operate the service as 14 health workers, including four doctors and health assistants, had to be placed in the quarantine of a local hotel at the same time. Likewise, the doctors and health workers in the quarantine had called the INSEC representative at 9 am on 24 July saying that they have not got food since the night of 23 July.
