Dujman Bhandari, the Ward Chairperson of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-6, and Ward Member Yama KC have been repeatedly threatened by unknown assailants using Indian mobile numbers. They issued a press release on September 3 revealing that they have received multiple death threats from unknown numbers.

According to the victims, the threats began on August 14 and are related to the demolition of a wall belonging to 40-year-old Elija Dangi Oli and her 45-year-old husband, Jageshwar Oli. The demolition occurred during the construction of a road connecting the vegetable market in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-6 to Banakata via Gaidahar. The threats have been coming from unknown individuals, both Indian and Nepali, using Indian mobile numbers.

Victims filed a complaint at the Area Police Office in Tulsipur on 18 August and at the District Police Office on 23 August, stating that Elija and Jageshwar were using Indian individuals to issue death threats against them. Bhandari mentioned that they also filed a complaint at the District Administration Office on 2 September after receiving no response from both the Area Police Office in Tulsipur and the District Police Office. He expressed doubt about the police’s role, stating that even after presenting evidence, including audio recordings of the death threats, the accused individuals were not questioned.

DSP Thakur Prasad Pokherel of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, stated that since the threatening individuals are based in India, they have advised filing a complaint with cyber crime authorities. He also mentioned that since only a petition has been received so far, they are unable to proceed with the case. DSP Pokhrel urged the victims to provide evidence along with their complaints.
