Two Years and Five Months of Imprisonment for Accused of Rape
According to District Court Information Officer Rita Lamichhane, the verdict delivered by the bench of District Judge Madan Bahadur on December 28, 2022, also imposed a fine of NPR. 25,000 and a victim relief fund of 1,000.
The victim’s family had registered the case on the charge of rape. However, the court changed the registered charge to child sexual abuse, which led to the reduction of the sentence.
A complaint accusing B.K. of the rape of a minor on June 9, 2020, was registered at the District Police Office on June 1, 2020.
The medical examination of the victim was done on the same day of complaint registration at Trishuli Hospital. The district court sent B.K. on the custodial detention for trial on 27 July 2020.
