Two RJP-Nepal cadres arrested
Police have today arrested two central committee members of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal for carrying out activities to obstruct the filing of nominations by candidates standing in the second phase of local level elections according to RSS.
The arrested are Foniram Chaudhary and Sunita Chaudhary. They were arrested while burning tyres on the road to halt the nomination process.
Chief District Officer, Govinda Prasad Rijal told the RSS that they were taken under control from Hasuliya area of Kailali district. Filing of nomination has been taking place in a peaceful manner in other local levels of the district. Second round of local-level election is scheduled for June 28.
Candidates of political parties as well as independent candidates have reached the Office of the Election Officer and are filing their nominations. The district has a sub-metropolitan city and six municipalities and six rural municipalities and has 403,280 voters.
