Two Accused of Killing a Women After Rape, Arrested after 16 years
Police arrested two people on the charge of killing after the rape of Lalita Rai, 25, of Dharan Sub-metropolitan city -10, 16 years after the incident.
The police arrested the two people on May 21, 2023. They were accused of killing the victim after holding her hostage on December 9 2007 in room no.218 of Balabhadreshwar Arunodaya Dharamshala in Mahendrapath located in Dharan sub-metropolitan city-12.
Those arrested are Chandra Bahadur Rai, 56, and Kalpan Rai,44, of Dhankuta, Shahidbhoomi Rural Municipality-1.
DSP Navraj Malla of the Dharan Area Police Office said the arrested individuals are accused of killing the woman with strangulation, after rape.DSP Malla said that both the accused confessed to the charge of homicide.
The police registered a case against the accused in the district court on May 21 under the charge of intentional homicide.
The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted on December 10, 2007, at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan Ghopa.
