Malangwa SP Nareshraj Subedi stated that the district police office’s team arrested Manisha Devi Sah at 9 o’clock in the evening on September 27 when they were about to burn the body at Nahar Ghat, west of Khairwa.
DSP Tharu noted that it appeared the deceased had taken poison . A ligature mark was also observed on her neck. The incident is being investigated further, and it will be determined whether it was a murder or suicide following the post-mortem examination.
DSP Tharu also informed that the three family members, including the husband, were arrested for attempting to burn the body without following the legal procedures, even though it appeared to be a suicide, and without informing the police.
The accused father-in-law of the deceased claimed, “The deceased was suffering from mental illness. My daughter-in-law committed suicide due to mental illness, and we did not kill her.”
The body has been taken to Malangwa Provincial Hospital for post-mortem examination. The father of the deceased, 47-year-old Rajkishore Sah of Kavilasi Municipality-3, alleged that her husband and other family members killed her daughter.
