Ten Years Imprisonment for Crime of Rape and Forced Abortion
District Court imposed a punishment of 10 years imprisonment to Kishan Kumal, 26, Adheri Bhanjyang, Byas Municipality-9, for the crime of rape and forced abortion on a 16-year-old girl.
Min Bahadur Kuwar, Registrar of the District Court, the bench of honorable Judge, Komal Prasad Acharya, sentenced the guilty on May 25, 2023.
The aggrieved party filed a case at District Police Office on January 8, 2022, complaining the accused committed the crime of rape on November 14, 2021, and followed it by forcing abortion on the victim through pills on January 7, 2022.
Police arrested the accused on January 10, 2022. The victim underwent a health examination on January 8, 2022, at Damauli Hospital.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office registered a case against the indicted, on February 4. The Court remanded the accused to pre-trial judicial detention on February 5.
