Teachers Asked for Clarification on Violating the Code of Conduct

The District Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee has asked for clarification with four teachers on November 5, 2022, who were found violating the code of conduct.

After the implementation of the Code of Conduct for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20, 2022, Yubaraj Pandey, a teacher of Deurali Basic School located in Panini Rural Municipality-4, Gita Ghimire, a teacher of Debiprabha Basic School located in Panini Rural Municipality-4, Khabar Mohammad Ansari, the principal of Baburam Basic School of Panini Rural Municipality-8 and Krishna Prasad Bhusal, the teacher of Janata Basic School, of Malarani Rural Municipality-8 were asked to clarify their activities in promoting election by the monitoring committee.

The Office of the Chief Election Officer asked for their clarification within 24 hours asking them to state why action should not be taken in accordance with Section 46 of the Election Code of Conduct 2079 and Sub-section (3) of Section 23 of the Election Commission Act as their actions were contrary to Section 7 (b) of the Election Code of Conduct 2079. They have been asked to appear in person and submit a written clarification.

Monitoring officer Deepak Adhikari said that as per the decision of the meeting of the district code of conduct monitoring committee, clarification has been sought from the teachers mentioned above because of their actions against the election code of conduct.
