Teacher Attacked on Charge of Witchcraft Allegation
Indra Pun, 41, of Maalika Rural Municipality- 2, Bilbang Rum was injured after attacked by local on charge of witchcraft allegation.
As per the victim she was attacked by victim’s neighbor 28 years old Ramesh Pun on morning of 13 November on charge of being a witch.
According to inspector Ram Prasad Pandey, accused was arrested by the team of Area police of Darbang in between the forest of Niskot and Rum.
Vice Chairperson of Malika Rural Municipality Kharmaya Bitalu said, victim Indra Pun, also the Principal of Local National Basic School was attacked in the morning while heading to school. She also added Pun sustained injury in her head, neck and hand because of the attack.
According to Vice Chairperson Bitalu after being arrested by police accused said the victim Indra Pun possessed him through witchcraft which compelled him to attack her.
Inspector Dhruba Sharma of District Police Office, Myagdi said that after receiving the information of the incident with collaboration with Rural Municipality victim has been taken to Manipal Hospital, Pokhara by helicopter for treatment on 13 November.
