Teacher Arrested on Charge of Torture
Police have arrested 42-year-old teacher Indra Bir Pradhan on August 17 on charge of physically and mentally torturing a 12-year-old girl.
The victim had informed her principal verbally about the sexual violence by teacher Pradhan.
The victim’s parents have complained that the girl attempted to commit suicide by taking poison after she was given a punishment by her teacher in front of other students after she complained the incident to the principal.
The parents said that the girl was mentally disturbed after the torture and attempted to suicide. She was taken to Kathmandu in a critical situation according to her family.
The victim’s parents have lodged a complaint against the teacher at police office on August 16. He was arrested on August 17 for further investigation.
