Tanahun Police Rescued a Child Labor Based on INSEC’s Information
On the night of June 26th, police rescued a 9-year-old girl who was being kept as a domestic worker from a house in Byas Municipality-2. The initiation was taken based on information provided by an INSEC representative.
INSEC representative informed SP Apilraj Bohora of the District Police Office that former Senior Head Constable Rajkumar Rana of the Armed Police of Bijuwar Rural Municipality, Pyuthan currently renting in Byas Municipality-2, has kept a 9-year-old girl from Kathmandu for domestic work and had been torturing her. Subsequently, the team of District Police Office rescued her.
SP Bohora stated that the victim was taken to the District Police Office for safety on the same night, and arrangements to contact her parents and hand her over to them are being made.
As per the locals, the Rana family tortured the girl regularly. Furthermore, SP Bohora stated that Rana, who tortured the girl, would be punished according to the law.
