Six People Injured When House Collapsed Due to Landslide in Taplejung

Six people were injured when a house collapsed due to a landslide in the Happukhola settlement of Sirijunga Rural Municipality-2 on the evening of July 9.

Among the injured are 43-year-old Khadga Bahadur Baniya of Sirijunga Rural Municipality-2 Ambegudin, his 38-year-old wife Januka Baniya, 30-year-old Subina Baniya, 28-year-old Khemraj Adhikari, 53-year-old Tilmaya BK and 10-year-old boy Rohit BK.

The injured individuals are in stable condition overall, but Khadga Bahadur and Januka sustained injuries across various parts of their bodies. DSP Ravi Rawal of the District Police Office said that Khemraj suffered a serious injury to his right knee. Additionally, he has been referred to Jhapa for further treatment.

Tilamaya and Prakash sustained injuries to their hands and legs. According to police, the five injured individuals are being treated at the District Hospital in Panchthar.

The rain has caused physical and human damage in the district since June 9.photo-20240710-taplejung
