Single Woman Misbehaved On Charge of Being Witch
Victim Janaki Devi Kapar,65 of Kharihani VDC-5 accused her neighbours of beating and misbehaving her on August 12 on charge of being witch.
Janaki Devi was severely beaten by Dhuran Kapar,25, Babita Devi Mukhiya,30, Bas Lal Mukhiya,23, Suk Kumar Kapar,26 and Sanjeet Kapar,24 alleging her of being witch.
The victim has lodged a complaint at NHRC, office at Janakpur seeking for justice according to NHRC officer Som Nath Subedi. She is undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal hospital.
The victim’s son Ram Dayal Kapar said that his mother was misbehaved in many other occasion privioiusly by the accused alleging her of being witch. The victim said that she did not get any justice even after lodging complaint at police post in Kharihani. She was compelled to live her life in fear and terror.
ASI Nawal Kishore Joshi of temporary police post at Kharihani said that investigation will be initiated after the victim lodges a complaint against the accused.
