Seven Years Imprisonment For Rape
The district court has sentenced a 40-year-old man to seven years imprisonment for the crime of rape of his 48-year-old sister-in-law.
According to District Court Registrar, Dhan Bahadur Karki, District Court Judge Navraj Dulal’s bench on June 6, 2023, found him guilty of the crime, sentencing him to imprisonment. The bench imposed a fine of Rs. 3,00,000 and a victim compensation of Rs. 5,000.
The victim filed a complaint at Local Police Office, Katari, on July 20, 2022, alleging the accused of committing the crime on June 6, 2022.
The police arrested the accused on June 6. The police registered a case of rape in the district court on August 11.
District Court Judge Harikrishna Shrestha’s bench, on August 14, remanded the accused to judicial custody.
The health examination of the victim was done at Katari Hospital on July 20, at the district hospital.
