Sentenced to Life Imprisonment For Crime of Rape
The District Court sentenced 18-year-old Madan Mijar of Panchkanya Rural Municipality-2 to life imprisonment for the crime of raping a seven-year-old girl.
The Bench of District Court Judge Subhash Babu Puri on 18 March sentenced the accused to life time imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 7,00,000 as per the Registrar Khemkumar Basnet.
A complaint regarding the case was filed at the district police office on September 27, 2022 alleging that the accused had raped the victim on September 26, 2022.
The accused was arrested on September 27, 2022 and was sent for pre-trial detention as per the order of district court on October 19, 2022.
The medical examination of the victim was done on September 27 at Trishuli Hospital.
