Sentenced to 12 years Imprisonment for the Crime of Rape
The district court has sentenced Binod Oli of Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city-11 to 12 years imprisonment for the crime of raping a 23-year-old woman.
The bench of District Court Judge Lal Singh Thapa, on December 11, 2024, found the accused guilty and sentenced them to 12 years of imprisonment, a fine of Rs 5 lakh , and ordered the payment of Rs 50 thousand as compensation, as informed by the court’s registrar, Damodar Ghimire.
Aggrieved party filed a complaint at the local police office, Tulsipur on 25 July alleging that the Oli had raped the victim on July 24, 2023. The medical examination of the victim was done on July 25 at Rapti Provincial Hospital, Tulsipur. The police arrested Oli on July 25.
