Sentenced to 11 days of imprisonment in the case sexual abuse
District court has rendered a verdict on 21 June prescribing 11 days of imprisonment to Laxmi Mahhato, 76, from Tanahu Rural Municipality-5, in the charge of sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl child.
Bench of Justice Prem Prasad Neupane prescribed 11 days of imprisonment and NPR. 10,000 fine to the accused. The accused was also ordered to provide NPR. 2000 as a compensation to the victim.
Victim’s family had filed the complaint on area police office, Kanchanpur on the same day alleging that Mahhato has sexually abused the girl on 26 November 2020.
Police arrested Mahhato on the day of the incident on the charge of sexually abusing the victim by inviting her to his home to eat milk and rice.
Local police office Kanchanpur had registered the complaint on 27 November 2020. Health checkup of the victim was conducted at Gajendranarayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj on 27 November.
The accused was released on the bail amount of NPR. 25,000 as per the court’s order of 8 December 2020.
