Senior Citizen Killed by Unknown Assailant
Police reported that 65-year-old Sannani Gharti of Besishahar Municipality-11, Chiti Bagaicha, was found dead in her home on August 13. The victim, who lived alone, had planned to travel to Kathmandu on the morning of July 30 and had arranged for a local jeep driver to take her to Udipur, Lamjung. When the driver arrived in the morning, he found her body at her residence. Inspector Thaneshwar Chapai of the district police office stated that the preliminary investigation revealed she had been killed by blows to the head and face with a sharp weapon.
Inspector Chapai informed that a team, including a trained dog from Pokhara, was called to Lamjung for further investigation and the body has been brought to the District Hospital in Lamjung for a post-mortem.
