Schools Padlocked From A Week; Education Affected

The lockdown at Kailash Basic School in Kharpunath Gaonpalika-1 has directly affected the students’ education.

A local Khadga Bahadur Shahi said that the students’ education was affected due to a party dispute over the appointment of the headmaster.

A local Shahi informed INSEC representative that the school was locked by the school management committee after the Kharpunath village executive committee reversed the decision of appointing Lal Bahadur Shahi as the headmaster.

A local Barsha Bahadur Shahi has complained that the school was closed when the rural municipality appointed a PWA against the decision and the education of the students was disrupted after a long time.

According to locals, the closure of the school has affected the education of about 200 students. The school dispute has erupted after the school management committee chaired by the ward chairperson handed over the headmaster to one person and the rural municipality to another.

Kabindra Shahi, a teacher, said that a more complicated problem arose only after the village municipality reversed the decision of the school management committee on April 10.

Similarly, another teacher Lal Bahadur Shahi said that the school management committee did not follow the procedure.

Chairman of Kharpunath Rural Municipality, Karna Rawal, said that the municipality has taken the work forward by appointing a headmaster under the Education Rules as the ward and school management committee has not made a fair decision.
