Save life of Tiwari: Commission

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has drawn its attention regarding the indefinite hunger strike staged by Bikash Tiwari since 15 days demanding the reformation of overall medical sector and management of Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha zonal Hospital. He has been staging a hunger strike with 26-points demand.

The press statement signed and released by commission’s member Mohana Ansari on December 7 has appealed government to save life of Tiwari as his health condition is deteriorating.

The statement says “whatever be the structure of the protest, we would like to draw attention of the government to be sensible and search way out of the problem through dialogue.”

The commission has also urged government to guarantee the quality health services to the people. The commission’s monitoring team had found that there was lack of clean drinking water, lack of rubbish management system, old building, bad infrastructure, old hospital equipment and poor toilets.

Chairperson Bikash Tiwari of Nepal Sadbhawana Party, Gajendrabadi has been staging fast un-to-death protest since November 23 with various demands.
