Sarlahi District Court Adjourns Rape Case Against Accused

The Sarlahi District Court has decided to adjourn the case against Gobind Ram, also known as Gobind Ram, aged 42, from Parsa Rural Municipality-2. Gobind Ram stands accused of raping a 33-year-old woman. The adjournment was announced on June 21, 2023, and the case remains pending in the district court since its filing on December 20, 2021.

Registrar Bishwanath Aryal of the district court provided the information, stating that the bench, presided over by District Judge Chandrakant Poudel, has decided to keep the case under its purview. The adjournment implies that further legal proceedings in this matter have been postponed.

The victim initially lodged a complaint at the Malangwa District Police Office on December 10, 2021, alleging that Gobind Ram had raped her on December 4, 2021. Subsequently, on December 10, the district police office registered the complaint and initiated an investigation into the matter. As part of the investigation, a health examination of the victim was conducted on December 12 at the District Hospital in Malangwa.

Registrar Aryal of the District Court informed that the accused, Gobind Ram, has not yet been apprehended by law enforcement authorities.
