Respect Civil and Political Rights: NHRC
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has drawn the attention regarding the incidents of using extra force and arrest of RJP cadres who are agitating against the local level election.
The commission has drawn the attention of the government on June 18 for not doing arbitrary arrest and misbehavior to those in a peaceful rally. “At least four people were injured in Buddha chok of Parasi after a security personnel charged baton, fired bullet and tear gas cells during RJP program and we are concerned about the incident”, the release states.
The statement also described about the arrest of people from Nepalgunj, Jankapur, Sunsari, Biratnagar and asked government to adopt maximum patience.
The commission has urged RJP party to do their demonstration is a peaceful manner along with respecting other’s right to vote.
