Resignation of ward chairman demanded on charge of beating

The local women of Pritha Uttar Ganga Rural Municipality-11 released a press statement on February 21 demanding the action and resignation of ward chairman Jaya Kuma Buda, 36 on charge of beating 39 years old Jayapuri Budamagar of the same place.

The press released by the women stated that they are feeling unsafe from the person that they have chosen and elected to be their leader.

The victim was attacked with a helmet by the ward chair over a dispute of making toilet on February 17. The victim lodged complaint against the accused at Area Police Office on a same day however he was not arrested. Next day the complaint was lodged at District Police Office by the victim. On February 21, the victim underwent treatment at Rumkot Hospital. The accused however denied the allegation and said that he was pelted with stone by the woman.
