Victim,24, of rape has complained that she received  threats from the accused after filing a police complaint against the accused about crime of rape.

The victim complained that she was threatened after filing a complaint against the accused in a press conference held on September 12, 2023.

The victim in the press conference claimed that she was threatened  after she filed a complaint against the the accused on August 29, 2023 at the Area Police Office, Duhvi alleging that the accused Jitendra Sharma,33, Itahari sub-metropolitan city-13 Ranigaon committed the crime of rape on June 9, 2023.

According to the victim, Dilip Sharma, 34, accused’s brother and Devkumar Sharma, 55, accused’s father threatened her for filing a police complaint against the accused.

The victim alleged that the accused party threatened to withdraw the case and committed character assassination.

Mohan Pokharel, Inspector, the Area Police Office, Duhabi stated that the victim had lodged a complaint against the accused under the provisions of Section 219 of the Criminal Code of 2017.

He mentioned that the police initiated a search for the accused and ensured the victim’s security based on the victim’s complaint.

Bijay Chaudhary, the Ward Chairperson of Duhavi Municipality-7, has raised concerns with the police, urging them to ensure the safety of the victims and to take appropriate action against the offenders.

The health examination of the victim was done at the District Hospital on August 29.
