The Saptari District Court, presided over by the esteemed Justice Shyambihaari Maurya, has made its final decision to escalate the case involving the alleged rape perpetrated by 25-year-old Ajay Prasad Yadav against an 18-year-old woman from Tilaithi Koiladi Municipality-1. The verdict, effective 21 March, mandates the transfer of the case to a higher judicial authority.

The accusations revolve around the accused’s purported act of inducing the victim into a false promise of marriage, subsequently transporting her to Rajbiraj on a motorcycle on 4 October 2022. The victim bravely reported the incident to the District Police Office on 21 October 2022, seeking legal recourse. Additionally, prior instances of alleged rape, as conveyed by the victim, have come to light.

For the purposes of legal documentation, the victim underwent a thorough medical examination at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj on 16 October  2022. The formal complaint was registered at the District Police Office on 17 October , following which a warrant for arrest was duly issued by the court on 1 January 2023. Subsequent to the failure to execute the arrest, the accusation letter was officially submitted to the district court.
