Rape Attempt Accused Arrested
Police have arrested Anish Sherpa, 26, of Meringden Rural Municipality-2 on November 8 on charges of attempting to rape a 43-year-old woman.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on May 5, 2017, accusing the accused of attempting to rape the victim on May 4, 2017.
The accused was arrested by the police on May 11, 2017, on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim.
The accused had absconded after the district court ordered him to be released on bail of Rs 35,000 on June 5.
Instead of attending the trial, the accused absconded and was arrested in the same case, said DSP Mahendra Kumar Shrestha of the District Police Office.
The health examination of the victim was conducted at the District Hospital on May 5, 2017.
