Rape Accused Arrested
Police arrested 18 years and 18 days old Sunil Kumar Paswan of Saptakoshi Municipality-6, on 4 April 2023 on the charge of rape of a 16-year-old girl.
Saptari District Police said that police registered the complaint against the accused on 4 April and arrested him on the same day.
As both the girl and the accused had run away from home after having a love marriage, they were handed over to their parents at the local police office in Kanchanrupa on 24 March. According to residents, the girl again went to the house of the accused on 26 March.
After the police arrested the accused, the accused appeared at the district police office on 2 April. The accused has been in police custody since the same day. After the victim filed a written complaint on 4 April, the victim’s medical examination was conducted at Rajviraj Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital on 4 April.
