Rape Accused Arrested
Police have arrested Nir Kumar Khadka, 22, of Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-10 and Surya Shrestha of Jugal Rural Municipality-4 on October 4 on the charges of raping a 17-year-old girl.
According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, the victim was repeatedly raped by an unidentified person on the bus coming from Ratna Park to Bhaktapur at 11 am on October 2.
On the basis of the initial investigation, it has been figured out that the victim was made to drink water mixed with something after which she was unconscious. The accused had raped her in an unknown bus and later handed over the victim to the driver and helper of the bus with the number Ba 3 Kha 2612. Those two also repeatedly raped her on October 3 at around 10 pm.
According to SP Tara Devi Thapa of the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, the police reached the spot and arrested two persons and rescued the victim girl after the locals reported suspicious activity inside the bus at the police control room.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused on October 3.
Police said that the Bhaktapur District Court has extended seven days’ time limit for investigation.
The girl has been examined at Kathmandu Medical College, Duwakot, Bhaktapur on October 3.
