Protests against the amendment of constitution continues, cordon off the government building

The revolutionary Committee has cordoned off the government offices on December 8 against the government’s proposal on amendment of constitution with the division of five number province.

According to INSEC District Representative Narayan Bhusal of Arghakhanchi, the joint revolutionary committee has organized a human chain and cordoned off the District Administration Office, District Development Committee from morning 10 am to 12 am.

The protest has hampered the normal lives of the people. The protest was against the government’s proposal to amend constitution according to coordinator Bishnu Khanal Muskan of the revolutionary committee.

INSEC Gulmi representative Top Lal Aryal said that assembly and people’s demonstration was organized in Gulmi in the ninth day of the agitation. The demonstration and protest has hampered the normal lives of the people.

The agitators have restricted the entry of newly transferred CDO Krishna Prasad Dhungana in to the office on December 7. They have organized a sit-in-protest in front of the District Administration Office.

According to INSEC Palpa District Representative Yagya Murti Timilsina, the studies of the students are affected due to the demonstrations and protest in the district against the government’s proposal on amending constitution. The schools remains closed due for the ninth day of the agitation in the district. Parent Bhoj Raj Timilsina of Chandra Secondary School of Chappani said that this has deprived the right to education of children.

Ninth day of Band makes normal lives difficult

The Palpa Band continues for ninth day organized by the joint revolutionary Committee. The normal lives of the people have been highly affected by the long Band.

On December 8, most of the government offices remained closed. Similarly, sit-in-protest was organized in front of District Administration Office since the morning. The protest and agitation has affected education, health sectors along with industries and transportation of the district. The commuters are stranded .

Thakur Gaire, central member of CPN UML said that the agitation will continue until the proposal is not taken back.

According to INSEC District Representative Vibek Dhungana of Kathmandu, the supreme court has ordered to present defendant on the writ lodged against the amendment of constitution.

A single bench of justice Jagdish Sharma Paudel has decided that the hearing of all writ lodged against the amendment of constitution will be held on December 20.

Advocate Tikadhwaj Khadka had lodged writ against the government’s proposal of constitution amendement in Supreme Court. In the writ lodged, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar is made defendant.
