Prohibitory Order Implemented in Birendranagar after Removal of Curfew
The local administration of Surkhet has removed the curfew of Birendranagar and implemented a prohibitory order on March 1, 2022.
The administration had done so considering security at the sensitive areas like Birendranagar market area, Arichowk, Mangalgadi Chowk and Hatiya line/Hatiya Chowk. It has been prohibited for more than five people to gather for any kind of assemblies, rallies or ceremonies.
If anybody is found disobeying the order then action will be taken under the Local Administration Act, 2028 (Amended) Section 6 Sub-Section (3A), said Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rijal.
The District Administration Office had imposed a curfew in Surkhet, on February 28, 2022, after the protests by six political parties against the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) turned violent.
