Prez Calls for Constitution Implementation

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called on all political parties to join hand together  for the implementation of newly promulgated constitution  in order to protect the democracy. She called on for the consensus among the political parties while issuing greetings on the occasion of Constitution day on September 18.

According to INSEC district representative Vibek Dhungana, the president the new constitution has been issued with the responsibility of determining the future of the country along with end of conflict and transitional period.

The President also quoted that the constitution has ensured civil rights of all levels by representing federal, democratic, secular, and inclusive. She also urged for a constitution implementation to direct the country towards prosperity.

The constitution of Nepal was promulgated in 2015, September 19.

In the program, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Chief Justice Sushila Karki were present.

Prime Minister Dahal said the constitution will get more matured and perfect during a process of amendment. He added that constitution being a dynamic and lively document completes various phases of amendment according to the necessity of the people.

A public holiday was announced by the government to mark the first constitution day.

According to the district representative Man Datta Rawal of Jumla, various programs were organized in on September 19 in Jumla to mark the constitution day. A debate program was organized by District Education Office in secondary and higher level. Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Pandit  said that a rally including, lightening of candle was organized to mark the day.

INSEC Bhojpur representative Kiran Rai said that the locals urged various political parties for the implementation of constitution.

They recommended for the immediate implementation of the constitution saying that people have not experienced political stability, peace, security and development due to the lack of its implementation.

According to the INSEC district Representative Bishnu Prasad Adhikari of Kaski,Various programs were organized in the district to mark the constitution day.  An interaction program was organized by Civili society network for peace, Youth voice, Dhikurpokhari and Women Power Kathmandu. Speaking at the program local development officer Damodar Bhandari stressed on constitution implementation.
