Prisoners and Detainees Facing Difficulties of Space
Prisoners and detainees at District prison of Salyan have complained that they are facing difficulties in drinking water and space due to overcrowd. There are three times more prisoners and detainees kept in prison.
The prison has a capacity to accommodate 20 male and five female however there are 88 prisoners and detainees according to jailer Bikram Shahi.
Inmate Judda bahadur Buda said that they are facing difficulties in drinking water, using toilet and even sleeping as there are three times more prisoners and detainees than its capacity.
Another inmate Mahendra Thapa said that they are facing difficulty in sleeping and prison is getting dirty. Due to the lack of hygiene 25 inmates are suffering from viral fever.
No initiation has been taken yet from the centre despite of the complaint, said jailer KC.
