Prisoner Absconded During Treatment in Morang
Morang Police reported that a prisoner escaped from Koshi Hospital while receiving treatment. SP Nabraj Karki of the District Police Office confirmed that 24-year-old Aryan Mohammad Ahmed Khan, who was serving sentence at Morang District Jail, had absconded during the treatment.
SP Karki reported that Khan was admitted to Koshi Hospital on July 30 due to a stomach problem. On August 1 at 5:30 a.m., while exiting the toilet, Khan pushed aside the security personnel and escaped. The police have initiated a search suspecting that Khan may have fled to India.
Khan has been serving his prison sentence since March 13, 2023, following a District Court verdict that sentenced him to 12 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500,000 in a rape case.
