Press Operator Pushpadeep Dies in the Party Office of Maoist

Pushpadeep Devkota, the owner and operator of Pushpadep Offset Press located at Kamalamai Municipality-6 has died in the party office of CPN-Maoist on April 27, 2022.

Devkota had gone to collect the payment of the publication materials used for the publicity of the candidates of CPN-Maoist Centre in 2017 at around 10 am.

Devkota decided to stay on a hunger strike inside the premises of Maoist party office to collect the due amount. At around 1pm, he fainted on the spot and when taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

According to DSP Manoj Kumar Lama of District Police Office, Sindhuli, the cause of death could not be ascertained and police is investigating the case.

The body has been kept at Sindhuli Hospital’s morgue. Bivek Raj Devkota, son of the deceased, has lodged a FIR against Maoist cadre Prakash Kafle after which he was arrested by the District Police Office.
