Pregnant Woman Tied in a Chain is Rescued

Srijana Karki (Khadka),22 of Triyuga Municipality-5 who was tied in a chain since six month has been taken to the hospital for free treatment. A Human service Centre of Hetauda has taken initiative for her treatment.

The centre has taken initiative for her treatment through District Administration Office after news of her condition was published on INSEC online including various other media.

Along with its concern over the health of Srijana, she was taken to Hetauda Hospital on August 11 by a team of journo Tulsi Prasad Koirala, Sunitra Koirala of WOREC, ASI Uma Gurung, police woman Shova Karki and Srijana’s mother-in-law Dhana Maya Khadka according to CDO Krishna Chandra Ghimire.

Chief Ramji Adhikari of Human Service Centre said that she was served because the organisation provides free treatment to those suffering from mental illness and who are disable.

Srijana’s mother in-law expressed her happiness because of the service provided by the Centre. Srijana, who was also suffering from mental illness, was tied in a chain in her house since six months. She was kept in such pathetic condition because of poor financial condition of family.
