Postponed Polling Completed with Strict Security

Polling that had postponed on May 13, 2022, at the Sunipipal Chaur Higher Secondary School polling station of Jaya Prithvi Municipality-7 had been completed on May 15 amid tight security of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and temporary police in the inner circle.

Voting was postponed on May 13 after a dispute broke out between the CPN-UML and alliance cadres at the polling station.

According to DSP Gyan Bahadur Bista of the District Police Office, 1,178 votes were cast in the ‘A’ and ‘B’ polling stations at Sunipipal Chaur High School which started at 7 in the morning.

Major Megh Bahadur Gurung of Birbhadra Jung Gulm Pankot, SP Madhav Shrestha of Nepal Police, DSP Gyan Bahadur Bista of the District Police Office and DSP of the Armed Police Force deployed 300 security personnel to ensure peace and security at the polling station.

According to DSP Bista of the District Police Office, preparations are being made to bring the ballot boxes to the polling station at Chainpur and the counting of votes in Jaya Prithvi Municipality will start as soon as the ballot boxes reach the polling stations.
