Police stops Child Marriage
A child marriage of a 14 years old girl at Lahan Municipality-6 has been stopped in an initiation of Area Police Office on the night of October 24.
DSP Naresh Raj Subedi of Area Police Office of Lahan said that 29 years old Ashif Ekbal from Madhubni India came with a wedding procession of 300 people and police has interfered and stopped the marriage.
After getting the information, police immediately reached the incident site and returned back the wedding process.
The wedding was stopped in an agreement of both party after informing them about the legal consequences of child marriage.
The parents of the girl have agreed to stop the marriage saying that they were unaware of legal consequences of child marriage.
