People’s Representative Accused of Mistreatment
Mahesh Thapaliya, Mayor of the Khadbari Municipality has accused Bimal Raj Gautam, Ward Chairperson of Khadbari-9 of mistreating him in his office on February 16. Mayor Thapaliya alleged that Ward Chairperson Gautam locked him in the office and subjected him to mistreatment and verbal abuse. It has been alleged that the Ward Chairperson Gautam entered the municipality and used offensive language while physically attacking and mistreating Mayor Thapaliya, according to an eyewitness staff. Mayor Thapaliya stated that Ward Chairperson Gautam also verbally abused the staff.
The police stated that Chairperson Gautam was under the influence of alcohol, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
