One Year and Six Months of Imprisonment in the Charge of Marital Rape
The court has imposed one year and six months of imprisonment to a 26-year-old husband from Soludhudkunda Municipality in the charged of rape of a 22-year-old wife.
Bench of Judge Prakash Kumar Adhikari rendered this verdict on 15 March 2023.
The victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 24 June 2022 alleging that the accused raped her on 23 June.
Police arrested the accused based on the victim’s complaint the same day. A complaint of marital rape was lodged in the court on 13 July.
Accused was remanded to the judicial custody for further investigation on 14 July.
Medical examination of the victim was conducted ta the District hospital on 26 June 2022.
