Normal life affected by the general strike since two days
The normal life of the people has been affected by the general strike called on by joint revolutionary committee since two days in various district nationwide against the government’s proposal of amending the constitution.
According to INSEC district representative JN Sagar of Dang, from the morning the transportation and industries of the district have been affected by the strike. Most of the major highway of the district have been affected by the strike including markets in Ghorahi, Lamahi, Tulsipur and Bhalubang.
The band enforcer have obstructed the road in many places. According to SP Dhiraj Pratap Singh of Dang District Police Office, there has been no incident in the district.
INSEC district representative Narayan Bhusal of Arghakhanchi said that the demonstrators were active from the morning and closed market, transportation and industries. Whole day, the district became quite. The normal life of people were affected by the band.
The agitators had protested against the Prime Minister against the government’s proposal of amending constitution.
There were no major incident reported in the district during the agitation according to DSP Nawa Ratna Paudel of DPO.
According to INSEC Gulmi district representative Top Lal Aryal, there was a major clash with police and demonstrators while opening locked District Administration Office in Gulmi. AT least 25 demonstrators were injured in a clash. The normal life of people in Gulmi has been affected by the daily demonstration and agitation.
Most of the major political parties and their wings have shown solidarity in the agitation.
According to Palpa District representative Yagya Murti Timilsina, the life of people was affected by the agitation in Palpa. Various phase of agitation has been initiated in the district against the government’s proposal of amending constitution. The education and industry were affected by the strike however ambulence and emergency vehicles were allowed for operation. There were no major incident according to the police.
According to Banke representative Binod pandey, the second day of agitation has also affected the normal life of the people. The band enforcer have vandelized a Pharmacy for defying band. Similarly, one motorbike was vandalized.
The intellectuals and philosophers in one program in Rolpa had protested against the government proposal of constitution amendment. The program was organized by Nepali Writer Federation of Rolpa according to our representative Madhab Kumar Oli. In the program 12 writers had protested the government’s move through their creation.
The normal life including industry, school and market were completely affected by the band today.
