Nine Years of Imprisonment in the Charge of Sexual Abuse
The court has rendered a verdict imposing nine years of imprisonment to Sonelal Yadav, 57, from Bishnupur Rural Municipality-2, Simraha on 3 April in the charge of sexual abuse of a eight-year-old girl.
Information officer Bharat Manu Pokhrel informed that the bench of District Judge Ramesh Prasad Gyawali rendered the said verdict imposing one lakh fine alongside the imprisonment. Judge also ordered the accused to deposit NPR. 1,800 in the victims relief fund.
Mother of the victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on 16 May 2019, stating that the accused sexually abused the girl while she was grazing the buffalo in the field. The complaint was registered on the same day.
Medical examination of the victim was conducted at Gajendra Narayan Singh hospital on 16 May 2019. A case against an absconding accused was lodged at the court on 12 May 2020.
