Nine people were charged for contaminating food and cheating consumers
At least nine people were charged for contaminating butter and oil and cheating consumers in Dang district. They were penalized for Rs 21,000 along with 21 days of imprisonment.
The District Administration Office of the district has taken action against Ganesh Shah, 36 of Khesraira Rautahat, Raju Rai , 30 of Sitamadi India, Lalaji Shah,35, Pawan Rai,45, Dhanisar Sahani,50, Lalan Shah,42, Suresh Shah,42, Ganesh Shah,36 and Bhikari Rai,45. Nine of them were released after keeping them in custody for more than 25 days for contaminating butter and oil during the festival of Tihar.
District Administration Office have charged them under black marketing according to CDO Deepak Kafle.
Meanwhile, police have destroyed 15 liters of contaminated butter, 34o packets of butter and 50 gallons of oil. The contaminated oil and butter were destroyed by District Administration Office on November 16 in present of attorney general office, District Police Office, representatives from Ghorahi municipality and media personnel.
