Nine Months Imprisonment for Attempted Murder
District Court has sentenced Dev Krishna Mandal,36, Bishnupur, Rural Municipality-1, Bajitpur, to nine months imprisonment for abuse and attempted murder of his wife Ramuna Rai, 32, Triyuga Municipality.
Dhanbahadur Karki, Court Registrar, informed that the bench of honorable Judge Navraj Dulal, the District Court, on June 5, 2023, found the accused guilty and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000 along with imprisonment.
The victim filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on December 1, 2022, on the charge of hitting her on the head with a cooker and a heavy door lock during a domestic dispute on November 30, 2022.
The police arrested the accused from his home on December 6, 2022, and registered a case under killing in the district court on January 1, 2023, through the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The accused was taken into custody for further investigation on the order of Harikrishna Shrestha, District Court Judge on January 2, 2023.
The victim was treated at the District Hospital on November 30, 2022.
