Monitoring of the School by INSEC

Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) monitored Janata Secondary School of Dankeshwori Municipality-6, on January 11.

Monitoring was conducted in coordination of Raju Paswan, Coordinator of INSEC Madhesh Province on January 11, after the submission of demand paper by human rights and child rights group formed by INSEC.

The team of INSEC discussed with the school management committee, teachers, land owners, representatives of political parties, parents and students regarding the establishment of the school, the inconvenience caused by the closure of the road, the disruption of teaching and its possible consequences and initiatives.

During the process, Coordinator of INSEC Madhesh Province, Raju Paswan stated that the initiative has been taken to protect the fundamental rights of children and ensure that they will pressurize the relevant authorities to seek solution as soon as possible.

Expressing his concern on the indefinite closure of the school teaching 550 students, Omprakash Yadav, the chaiperson of the school management committee, informed that the matter has been brought to the attention of the relevant authorities. The school has been closed since the January 2, 2023 after Devnarayan Yadav surrounded and closed the road, that was in operation since 1996. He stated that it is a numberi land. Rambriksha Mandal, a parent, said that most of the students in the school providing belong to Dalit or economically vulnerable families.

INSEC representative Manohar Kumar Pokharel, focal person of Barun Basyal, facilitator Bishvendra Paswan, journalist Navin Yadav and others participated in the team.
