Moderna Vaccine Campaign still not launched in Humla
The campaign of Moderna Vaccine, a vaccine against COVID-19, which was initiated in 57 districts of the country from December 19, 2021, could not be launched in Humla. According to the Health Service Office Humla, the campaign could not be carried out on time due to late arrival of vaccines.
Chief of the Health Service Office, Prem Bahadur Singh, said that the Moderna Vaccination Campaign was supposed to start from December 19 but it could not be sent to all the rural municipalities as the vaccine reached the district only on December 18.
He further added, ‘Only 637 vials have arrived in the district. With this 6,370 children will be vaccinated.’
Singh informed that 720 doses have been provided to Kharpunath rural municipality, 830 doses have been provided to Tajakot rural municipality, and 1,080 doses have been provided to Adanchuli rural municipality while in other rural municipalities, vaccines are still being distributed.
According to the Health Service Office, there are 9,621 children in Humla between the age of 12 to 17 who will get the Moderna Vaccine vaccination and the vaccination campaign will continue till December 29.
The Health Service Office is preparing to give the second dose to them from January 16 to January 26, 2022.
