Medical Shortage Causes Suffering for Patients

Patients seeking treatment at the District Ayurveda Health Center in Chautara are facing difficulties due to the delayed distribution of free medicines from the hospital.

Kabiraj Nirikshyak of District Ayurveda Health Center, Uttam Thakuri, mentioned that the delay in receiving the budget authorization for this year’s medicine purchase has caused a problem in distributing medicines to patients seeking treatment at the District Ayurveda Health Center.

According to Thakuri, while some medicines purchased in the previous fiscal year were available for a limited time, there is a scarcity of all the medicines meant for free distribution. The District Ayurveda Office provides free distribution of 23 different types of Ayurvedic medicines.

Kiranman Shrestha from Chautara Sagachowkgadhi Municipality-5, who visited the District Ayurveda Health Center for treatment of piles, reported that he was unable to obtain the necessary free medication.

Anju Karki, the Head of the District Ayurveda Health Center, stated that during the monsoon season, there is an increase in the number of patients, and concurrently, a shortage of medicines. As a result, this situation poses challenges in providing treatment to patients who visit the health center.

Chautara Sagachowkgadhi Municipality Ward No. 5 Chairman, Shiv Shrestha, emphasized the significant importance of Ayurvedic treatment, which provides care to all patients with various illnesses at the District Ayurveda Health Center. He mentioned that, it remains crucial to prioritize the treatment of patients who come to the health center.

Chairman Shrestha provided assurance that the medicines currently in shortage will be promptly supplied.
