Maoist Leader and Police Accused for Beating Congress Cadres Panchthar
Manukmar Rai, Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Ward Committee and Assistant Sub-inspector of Nepal Police Sai Ganesh Prasad Luitel of Nangin Police Post are being alleged of beating Man Bahadur Neupane, 25, a Nepali Congress cadre of Fidim Municipality-12 in normal dispute on May 22.
It is alleged that the victim was beaten by Rai during the night and ASI Luitel also beat him after he arrived the incident.
Pathibhara Hospital informed that the victim’s primary treatment was conducted at Pathibhara Hospital in Phidim on May 23 and referred for further treatment to Kanchanjungha Hospital of Birtamod, Jhapa.
Regarding the incident, Nepali Congress Fidim Municipality 12 number ward committee has demanded legal action against the accused.
The accused said that there was a general dispute in the incident and they did not beat the victim. No complaint has been lodged with the police regarding the incident.
