Lifetime Imprisonment for Crime of Rape
The District Court sentenced 59-year-old Ren Bahadur Nepali of Bhumikasthan Municipality-7 to life imprisonment for the crime of raping a five-year-old girl.
Registrar Narayan Poudel of theDistrict Court informed that bench of Shrikrishna Jung Shah on January 31 found the accused guilty and sentenced him to lifetime imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 700000 as a compensation to the victim.
A complaint was filed against the accused at the District Police Office, Sandhikharka on April 14, 2022 alleging that he had raped the victim on the same day.
The police arrested the accused from his house on April 14 and registered a case under rape in the District Court on May 6, 2022 through the District Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The health examination of the victim was done at Arghakhanchi Hospital, Sandhikharka on April 14.
