Landless Earthquake Victims Deprived of Compensation
One hundred and fifty landless earthquake victims haven’t received the compensation sum from the government to buy land due to which they are unable to build houses. This is their fifth winter in shelter.
According to Earthquake Reconstruction Authority, two hundred and thirteen landless earthquake victims have been identified in Gorkha. After four years of the quake out of all the victims only 63 of them have received the sum. There is a provision of providing 2 Lakh to every landless earthquake victim.
The local level has already sent the list of the landless earthquake victims to the Earthquake Reconstruction Authority and the process of sending the funds has reached its final stage. Most of the landless earthquake victims are from Palungtar Municipality.
