Lack of prison in Rukum East creates difficulties
Newly established Rukum east is facing difficulties after not having prison building. The inmates and detainees from Rukum east are being sent to Rukum west prison as they do not have their own prison building.
Rukum is divided into two districts during the restructure process and after that a district headquarter is established in Rukumkot of Rukum east after that.
In Rukum east, District Administration Office, District Police Office and District Court including other government offices have been established however there is no prison building yet.
Police said that there is difficulties on transferring inmates and detainees to Rukum West due to the security reason.
The budget has been allocated for building the prison however there is difficulties on land management according to CDO Mitra Lal Rimal.
